Were you finished with school before you graduated? We can help! We offer two pathways that lead to a diploma: GED and Minnesota Standard Adult High School Diploma.
HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY
The GED is a high school equivalency assessment, and GED prep classes help adults prepare to take and pass the assessment in order to obtain a high school credential. ABE helps students study for all four of the GED subtests:
GED tests are taken on a computer, from a test center or from the comfort of your home or classroom through OnVue Proctoring Service. Anyone under the age of 19 must obtain an age waiver before taking any GED tests.
With your GED diploma you can go on to college, earn a credential, get a job (or find a better job). Did you know, just getting your GED is like giving yourself a pay raise? GED graduates earn an average of $7,000 more per year than those without a diploma. ABE has classes to help you prepare for all four parts of the test, brush-up on your test taking skills and improve your basic reading, writing and math skills, while you build the confidence you’ll need to succeed.

standard adult high school Diploma
We can help you pick up where you left off with your high school classes and finish your high school diploma! The standard adult high school diploma is competency-based and is completed through participation in an approved Minnesota Adult Basic Education program. Completion of the program is recognized by the state with a diploma awarded by the Minnesota Department of Education.
Request your transcript from your previous high school and let us review it to determine which classes are required for you to finish. Our teachers can work with you to assign coursework, or you can use a combination of GED tests, high school credits and life experiences in your student portfolio.
When you graduate, you will receive a diploma from the Minnesota Department of Education. You must be 19 years old to participate in the Standard Adult Diploma program. There are no age waivers.
