

Paraprofessional Training
& Certification
This course is designed to qualify paraprofessionals to meet Title 1 requirements. Students will enroll in ParaEducator Online and work synchronously with a professional instructor through the first thirteen lessons. Proctored certification testing is provided upon completion of the course.
Prepare for a career in K-12 education as a Paraprofessional, a credentialed education professional who works under the direction of a certified teacher to provide support to students. Paras are in high demand in local schools for special education & general education.

Dates: Cohort 1: October 6th - November 19th, 2027 | Register by September 29th, 2026
Cohort 2: January 12th - February 25th, 2027 | Register by January 5th, 2027
Cohort 3: April 4th - May 20th, 2027 | Register by March 30th, 2027
Time: Tuesday & Thursday, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
*Must be enrolled in an ABE program to register

Distance Learning Platform: ParaEducator Online

Learner Prerequisite Reading Level: ABE 4 or ESL 6 (CASAS Goals 2 or STEPS of 228 or TABE of 536)

Learner Prerequisite Math Level: ABE 3 (CASAS Goals 2 of 210+ or equivalent TABE)

Learner Prerequisite ESL Level: ESL 6 in reading (see other explanation)

Host consortium will purchase access on ParaEducator Online for each student (value of $95)

Attendance and completion of all classes is required before a student will be allowed to take the proctored assessment. Students may miss two classes if they notify the instructor and make up the missing content with their local teacher. Students who miss more than two classes will be dropped and their access to the ParaEducator Online platform will be removed.
